Excellent Resources on End User Issues for Those New to SharePoint

Three Top Resources for SharePoint End Users” from EndUserSharePoint.com points new end users of SharePoint in small to medium-sized implementations to resources that can be of help.

What is really needed are recommended resources so that absolute beginners can get the information they need, when they need it, without wading through a bunch of jQuery, presentation layer, reconfigure the SharePoint interface articles.

The first of the three recommendations is The SharePoint Shepherd’s Guide for End Users from Robert Bogue.  Bogue’s books are aimed at the beginner with no assumptions of prior knowledge of SharePoint.  The second recommendation is SlideShare.net, which can be searched for the terms “SharePoint” and “end user” to unveil slides from presentations at all major and minor SharePoint conferences.  The third and last resource is Twitter, which allows you to track people who frequently tweet about SharePoint, so that you know who to ask when you have a question to which you can’t find an answer.

The three resources above can be quite useful for beginning users of SharePoint in smaller deployments, but if you have frustrated end users in an enterprise deployment, look to Smartlogic.  The Semaphore Content Intelligence Platform provides a comprehensive solution to frustrating out of the box SharePoint search and navigation.
